Uwharrie trail run.....2009

Just a reminder to those that have raced before (and may not have gotten advance entry forms), and others who might be interested... I'm guessing this race will fill up in one day or less, so get in your registration first thing in the morning if you want to race!!!

8, 20 and 40 mile trail run options...this race sells out very quickly and registration starts Monday morning. If you plan on doing it you will need to get on board quick.

This one's a long ways off but man it is a blast.....I'm definately planning to go this year on Sept 19th. Registration fills up very fast...registration opens May 1st at midnight...earlier registrations start sooner in the rotation which helps with avoiding back-up on the obstacles. Let me know if anyone is interested in fielding some 4 person teams.

I did the mud run in Quantico and loved it. I am in. Looks like quite a challenge. I could get a team together or be part of one.

March 28th is a busy weekend but if you're looking for a good little local event, no travel, very little time commitment and FREE then check out the Garner Recreation Park Off-road. This event is donation only to raise funds for Garner Police Officers to ride in the Police Unity Tour from Virginia to the Fallen Officers memorial in D.C so a great cause!

4 mile MTB ride, 2 mile trail run, 4 mile MTB ride. All on singletrack trails.

TEAMMATES NEEDED: REPLY TO MESSAGE BELOW

I'm new to the forum and would like to join a team for a summer/fall race. I have marathon (road and off-road), cycling (road 12+ centuries), mountain biking (signed up for my second 50 mile race), triathlon (20+ and 2 IM distance), swimming (up to 2.4 miles) experience but not a lot of canoe/kayak, ropes and navigation experience. The only races I'm signed up for this season is the 50 mile Cowbell Challenge, 24 hrs of Booty and the Shenandoah 100 MTB with a few short races and road centuries here and there. I live at the Ebenezer Church/Graylin entrance to Umstead and have a fairly flexible schedule.
oops - didn't mean to post this on its own discussion. I thought I was posting under the races/teammates thread and I don't know how to move it!

NIGHT RIDING SCHEDULE 2009

TORC would like to thank LCCP, HLCP and LRRP for allowing us to have this night riding schedule. Everybody keep in mind that staff stay late on there work days to allow us these night rides. Please thank them and be on time when leaving the trails and the park. These rides would not be possible if it wasn't for TORC and the good relationship that TORC has with these land managers.

Per Drew Cade LCCP park superintendent, we need to park at the boat rental parking lot. 2nd paved road on the right. 6:00 to 8:30, off the trails by 8 and out of the park by 8:30. MTBer's must fill out a TORC waiver form once for the whole season.

Mandatory Gear AR Date announced, Registration to open November 15th.

http://sites.google.c...

WHAT: Mandatory Gear Adventure Race is a fifteen hour AR with mountain biking, trekking, and orienteering. The race will cover approximately70 miles if completed, but there is a 15 hour time limit. This is the initial race of the 2010 Trailblazers Points Series where competitors compete in a season-long series trying to become the 2010 Trailblazer Champions. This race is also part of the Checkpoint Zero Tracker series, which ultimately ends with a national championship race in November 2010.

WHERE: Conway, SC- The Google map link above is to the start location. It is the same as the start/finish for the 2009 race. The address is 3290 Highway 319 Conway, SC. However, the location is not the main campus, but slightly closer to Main Street, on the opposite side of Highway 319. I will try to have it flagged on the map. However, they are close enough to see each other, so if you get that close, you'll easily find me.

WHEN: Saturday, January 30, 2010 start time to be announced. It will be a laid back, streamlined procedure, and check-in will be held from 6-9p.m. on 1/29/10. Check-in is discouraged for race day, as we need all the daylight we can get.

MANDATORY GEAR: See attached list, which is subject to change. I will notify you of any edits.

There will be an indoor facility for "gym style" camping. It will be heated, have restrooms, water, a kitchen, and other amenities. Just bring a pad or air mattress and sleeping bag and be right on scene for the start/finish. There is a stove if anyone wants to cook anything for their dinner or breakfast.

This is a TRAILBLAZERS "members only" race. So, if you are not a member, it is included in your registration. If you are a member, you get the discount reflected on the registration form. If you want to win maximum points, and the race, it will be a very difficult challenge. The points are spread enough that this will be a challenge to collect them all and finish in the 10 hour limit.
