I always carry a bike pump because of my experiences with the Co2 cartridges.

When thing to consider is the outside temperature...the CO2 discharges very cold so if it's cold outside during the ride the CO2 will mix with the low temps and create an iceball making inflation difficult if not impossible and then you have the issue of removing the frozen ultraflate from the valve...........

New AR Bike shoes:

These shoes were developed for Trans-Rockies/ Trans-Alps riders who frequently were off their bikes pushing up the steep inclines...Sound Familiar???

I know one puzzling thing to me was everytime I found cycling shoes that appeared to have the sole of a hiking or running shoe they were most oftne lace ups which typically don't do well while cycling. It appears that Pearl Izumi has created the perfect mix of tread and velcro straps common to cyling shoes. As the article says puts a new twist on just walking around the campground after a ride as well.

The drawback....Price of course.......but sometimes you gotta pay to play the right way.
