Introduction: Looking to expand my racing beyond running. Would love to start getting into biking and doing other outdoor adventurous activities.
Have you ever reached a point in an adventure (race or not) where getting dirtier/wetter didn't matter any more? Did that feel like despair or freedom?: Absolutely, total freedom. The dirtier and wetter it is, the better!
Have you ever mountain biked on a trail at night?: No, but sounds like a blast.
Have you learned how to use a compass and map to navigate?: Yes in the Marine Corps, but haven't used those skills since.
Have you participated in an adventure race before? What is interesting to you about AR?: No, not in the typical sense. But I've done tons of similar things while in the Marine Corps like 3-day wars, rappelling, obstacle courses, 56 mile hikes, etc. AR intrigues me b/c I'm super competitive and love physical activity - especially activities that call for endurance.
What's your strongest AR discipline - biking, paddling, trekking, ropes, navigation? Your weakest?: Strongest = running. Weakest = paddling.
